Beware of these triggers to support behavior change
When someone decides to change behaviors, it requires some planning you can support. In this episode, I'll talk about different triggers that let us fall into old behavior patterns, and examples of emotional, social, reactionary, and physical triggers.
Being aware of triggers, allows us to explore underlying needs, that we actually want to fulfill, with our old behavior. For example, I fulfill my need for relaxation after a stressful work day (trigger) by watching a show with a glass of wine on my sofa and don't move (old behavior). When I have clarity about my needs, I can consider fitting alternative behaviors. For example, I could do yoga with a friend and then have a glass of wine with her to relax (new behavior).
